HURRAY FOR DMA!!!!
Remember the visitors we had back in November, 2011 from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools? They spent three days looking at every aspect of DMA with a fine tooth comb. Well, we received our official notice of accreditation from them just the other day. Part of the opening paragraph states, “It is my pleasure to notify you formally that the Commission has approved the continuance of Divine Mercy Academy, grades PK3-8, as an accredited member for a seven year term, from May 1, 2012 to May 1, 2019.”

A SPECIAL VISITOR
Our Vicar, Father Sam Esposito, will come to Divine Mercy Academy on Wednesday afternoon, May 2, to tour our facilities and meet the students and staff. I trust he will find everything in good shape.

SACRAMENTS
First Holy Communion will be Sunday, May 6 at the 9:00 Mass at Divine Mercy Church. The children have been well prepared and are very excited about their encounter with Christ. In fact, they will have a retreat day including a practice on Friday, May 4. Students in grades 4 – 8 are asked to go to the choir loft on Sunday morning by 8:40 to sing for this special day.
Our 8th graders were confirmed in a beautiful ceremony by Bishop Zubik on April 26 at Christ the Divine Teacher Parish.

SHOWING APPRECIATION
National Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May. A note or token of appreciation to your child’s teacher would be a lovely gesture. DMA teachers go way above and beyond the call of duty with the time and dedication they give to this school.

GOLF OUTING REMINDER
We still need golfers for the May 12 golf outing scheduled to take place at Beaver Valley Golf Club. This is our last big fund raiser of the year. Please help by encouraging your golfer friends to register.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Thursday, May 3, is a national day of prayer. Join us at the flagpole in front of the school at 1:00 for prayer.

A Spring Band Concert and Art Exhibit will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 in the school gym. Come and be entertained by our regular band and the Steelpan Ensemble. Mrs. Zubrowski will award first, second and third place trophies to every art class.
